About Morbidgames & Ave Molech
About Morbidgames
Morbidgames began in Summer of 2002 when a PC game called Neverwinter Nights from Bioware was release. Morbidgames began creating small modules and dungeons with the games toolset within a world Michael G. Hurston had began creating in his earlier years. A few years later while DM’ing weekly sessions with his friends Michael and Joe Bond began to combine and rewrite a lot of the material Michael had scattered throughout his room. Soon after combining and reworking all his notes, it became apparent that others might enjoy the world setting and style of play used. Therefore in 2005 began the process of writing, editing, burning and rewriting a coherent world setting. In October of 2006 Morbidgames officially became a business entity and decided to list their products exclusively through RPGNow.com.
In 2007 Morbidgames released Journals Volumes 1, 2 and 3 and began work on the rewrite and combining of what would become Ave Molech Second Edition. Unfortunately life’s unexpected occurrences came up and Michael was diagnosed with testicular cancer (seminoma) after recovering from the surgery, spending three weeks in radiation therapy, continual blood tests every three months, having a job relocate him from CA to NV…things slowed down a bit. But then, after a long period of rest and recovery, Michael finished and released Journal Volume 4 and the Ave Molech Second Edition.
Now Morbidgames is back and we’ve teamed up with Lulu’s Distribution services, as well as many other online PDF retailers, to have printed editions of Ave Molech available at Amazon and many other online retailers. We hope to continue our gaming efforts and look forward to the future.
What is Ave Molech?
The world of Ave Molech is a land that has passed through the fires of turmoil and destruction, being tempered and remade into a thriving plane of existence. For the past few hundred years the majority of the world’s population has been hiding below ground or floating high above the chaos engulfing the realm. Reestablishing life on the surface is a feat that has only started to take shape over the last two hundred years.
Originally a realm where the dark lusts and thoughts of man were manifested, nothing could sheath the sword of destruction the people of this world wielded. With kingdoms in constant ruin and the world a struggling war zone, just as many fought for survival as did for power. Little hope existed for any kingdom to take control and make the lands tranquil again, and it wasn’t long before the inventions of necessity for war would cause their undoing.
With an invading force of unstoppable power using advanced weaponry to raze many of the cities, enslaving the people or killing them, many of the world’s citizens had little choice but to hide underground or leave to the skies. Whatever culture or history they had was all lost, forgotten and twisted into simple fables over the last few hundred years. Because of this the world split into three distinct realms, each empowering themselves by their own means.
Now, a couple hundred years later, the invading forces have been curtailed and the dimensional doorways for the most part have been shut off; allowing the world to heal and rest from its weary travels. Thanks in part to the comprehension of high powered magic and working with advanced technology the world is quickly reforming and taking shape.
However, the greed and selfishness of the people in this world still exists, and for the most part will never diminish completely. Although governments are starting to form and people are working together, the dark desires of mankind are quickly becoming evident. And there is little anyone can do to stop it.
A fantasy world featuring steampunk technology, magic, charismatic tiefling and a world being freshly discovered. Set sail for high adventure on an airship to the frozen east or battle your way through marshes to reclaim your blood heritage, perhaps see into the afterlife when you visit the mudlands, anything is possible in this d20 fantasy adventure.
Mechanics: 3.5 Edition Based Races & D20 Modern Stats, Classes and Rules.

What are Journals?
Journals are short stories with GM Hooks that take place within the world of Ave Molech. Although the locations and events happen within this realm, the ideas for campaign settings, items and ordinaries mentioned within could all easily be used by GMs in many different worlds. If you enjoy this story and setting you may find the Ave Molech Campaign Setting worth exploring as well. Inside you will find: A short story, a GM hook with campaign ideas, and stats breakdowns of characters or classes mentioned within the story.
What is Lore?
Lore books are stories, places, monsters and people within the world of Ave Molech, written by Michael G. Hurston, aspiring authors and fans of the game. Each of these additions is designed to flesh out the world and will continue to help GM’s and players of Ave Molech with ideas for their own campaigns.
While Lore books can be read without having extensive knowledge of the world of Ave Molech, it does assume some familiarity with the campaign setting. Key words of places, beings and technology are used, though the average reader may be able to grasp their meaning or influence.
