Over the last year I’ve been in significant battles with spam on my forums, so much so that I’ve purged them three times this year. I always make sure I have the latest version of SMF installed, I have the email confirmation turned on and the Captcha feature turned on.

Unfortunately people were still posting a ton of crap on there and so I have now made it so I have to approve members, which is basically my way of NOT approving anyone who signs up. I’ll more than likely remove the forums completely if I can’t find a better fix in the near future, so for now just email me or post a comment on the blog if you have a question.

Since October 2006 I’ve put a lot of time and energy into creating this site, a store front of our own, an unused forum, a blog, many social sites and a lot of automation. As the main writer, the only designer (print and web), an artist, the owner, accountant and facilitator of all things Morbidgames I’ve finally reached the place where I find I’ve hit a wall. While I need to take a back seat to things related to Ave Molech and my silly little stories, don’t fret too much, as the site(s) have been mostly running themselves lately and I’ll be around to facilitate things as needed if something breaks. However, I will not be spending the same amount of time or energy on this project as I have in the past, nor will I be consistently active within the game communities.

That said, here are some things to expect for 2010 from Morbidgames:

  • I’m probably not going to get a chance to write/produce any new content
  • Current items will continue to remain available and promoted via the usual outlets, though I have no plans to run any holiday/special events, except for maybe at OBS as their staff handles that work
  • I’ll be reading submissions still, though there is a good chance it will take me longer than 30 days to get back to you and if I am not interested in it, then we’ll just be silent
  • Site updates probably won’t be happening unless something big happens, if you want to cyber-stalk me I suggest reading my personal blog/site
  • Yes, Alice is pretty much indefinitely on hold as too many other and better companies are doing Alice movies, shows and games currently and I don’t want to do something thats so popular right now

I’ve recently been hired as the Online Content Producer for Team San Jose who is currently working on the revamping their website, www.sanjose.org As part of my responsibilities I have been asked to see what level of interest the online community has with allowing for the inclusion of syndicated bay area blog content and general user generated content, such as the uploading of photos by site visitors and the submission of venue reviews.

Keeping in mind our ultimate goal is to generate an online community that responds to events that happen within the city of San Jose and create an accurate picture of the city. To better help others facilitate this, what features would you find most desirable to have offered from our site?

An additional inquiry I’d appreciate feedback on is how you view the city of San Jose as a destination, and not just another city on the map. Many people consider San Jose to be the heart of Silicon Valley with its history with companies such as IBM, however, how do you feel towards San Jose as a place of tourism and fun? While its location allows for a plethora of adventures 30 to 90 minutes in any direction, what venues, services and hot spots, that are not business related, bring you to San Jose? If business has been your only interest within the city, what places have you considered to be the most favorable and the least enjoyable?

Thanks for taking the time to respond, and feel free to forward this out to any of your friends or colleagues whom you believe would be interested in this project.

Cheers

We’ll be quiet here during the Holidays, no releases, no new news for now, just facilitation of our websites and royalties.

Happy Holidays All.

Had my nose to the grind the last few days on a new book coming out as well as it will be my last week in Vegas as of the 2nd of October, but I wanted to mention that within the last three weeks our friends on Facebook have grown tremendously from 180+ to 530+ as of today. We appreciate the love and hope you continue to like our stories! :D

Been playing Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions on my PSP recently since my wife told me to stop playing it on the large plasma where she watches her shows… But anyway, it’s beautifully overcast today and I really feel like writing, though I do have to spend at least a good amount of time cleaning out the storage units – too much crap has been saved up.

Oh, and I’m following along with the Blizzcon updates, some really fun stuff is coming for World of Warcraft, and Diablo III and Starcraft will definitely be games I end up buying and playing as well.
