Morbidgames Publishing seeks new authors

Morbidgames publishing is looking for new and upcoming writers who want to have their stories told. We are currently accepting writings on the following topics: steampunk, urban fiction, science fiction, fantasy fiction, dark/epic/goth writings.

As a PDF publisher your stories can be either short or long and will be available at all of our PDF distribution outlets, including OBS Network, YGN, E23, Paizo, RPGBomb and our Emporium.

We’ll also promote your work through our social media outlets on Twitter*, Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, Hi5, Orkut, Friendster, LinkedIn, Stumbleupon, Digg and Delicious. In addition, your book will also be listed in our product press releases and email blasts.

*Twitter: We currently promote our works on various accounts, our owners account, our Emporium account as well as it will be promoted on the OBS Networks accounts as well.

But the best part is – Morbidgames Publishing doesn’t take a cut. That’s right. For works not related to our Ave Molech series we do not feel the need to take any percentage of profit from writers. We will however include a page at the end of your PDF book with a link to our website and our other products.

Our distributors will take a 30% cut for their fees. So if we sell your work for $10.00 you receive $7.00 – our books are typically released at $12.00 – $15.00 range the first year and then are lowered to $10.00 the following year. You set the price point; we’ll just facilitate the distribution.

So, what about my rights? Morbidgames Publishing believes that artists of all types should always be entitled to the rights of their works and allows all of our artists and writers to publish their works with third parties. We only ask that we retain the right to continue to sell and promote your work if it is accepted by us.

How the process works

Once a manuscript is sent in with a signed contract, we’ll have our members read through the submission and return it to the writer with any grammar or spelling suggestions we may find. Once it’s returned we’ll put it into the distribution outlets, promote it and give you a detailed report and payout on the 1^st of each month via PayPal or Check.

If a submission is received without a contract, we’ll send a reminder email asking for one. Unfortunately, without a signed contract we will not be able to review your manuscript or move forward with publishing it.

  • Word (DOC or DOCX is fine)
• Short Stories:
  • Under 7,500 words
• Novelette:
  • 7,500 to 17,500 words
• Novella:
  • 17,500 to 40,000 words
• Novel:
  • Over 40,000 words
