The world of Ave Molech is a lore heavy world setting with goblin technicians, magic wielding tiefling, airships, dead gods and people with a metal look. While the setting was created with d20 modern stats and classes, you’ll see many races from 3.5 that have been modified (ps: tiefling were charismatic here years before 4th edition). However, with any lore heavy game, there is enough content that you could plug any town, idea or theme into your own current setting.

Perhaps you’re not ready to sink into an entire new setting, Journals provide short, flash-fiction, stories that take place within the world of Ave Molech, but are created for GMs with the intension of incorporating them into your current game.

Don’t have a game going on, or looking for some new inspiration for your adventures, Lore may be just the thing for you. Lore are books designed to expand on the stories and people within the world of Ave Molech. While they do not add any additional mechanics to the game, they provide a lot of useful information for those looking to create settings of their own.

Not yet sold on the world of Ave Molech? Then curl up with a good book by the fire and read of a mystery involving magic wielding officers, half-demons and betrayal in Gloria Weber’s Gaslight Demons.

Just wanted to give an update on all things Me and Morbidgames related. I’ve recently been kept busy with some side projects, mostly NCLC Inc and Braintunes, though I did just complete another article for LVCRENews. Both of which have been mostly completed, just general facilitation stuff now. I’ve also started playing around with Ping.FM as I hope to stay in more constant contact with more than just the fans of Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also notice that our social site list has grown some as well.

On the online game design front I’ve received a quote of $25k starting for development of a flash based mmo of sorts, with other companies either not interested or ignoring me. So more than likely this idea will be placed on the back burner for now.

Writing, Reading and Arithmetic – I just finished reading the final Bone book Crown of Horns (Bone, Vol. 9) I can’t believe he started these about 10 years ago or so, which is about when I started reading them too. I’ve had some time for Alice, but the focus is still lost and what should have been the start of the RPG is quickly turning into another Ave Molech supplement.

The day job, yeah, that’s still there and commercial real estate isn’t changing its sorry tune anytime soon.

Well it has been over 100 for several days now here in Vegas and the people walking around are only half way clothed. Summer is officially here! With this season of heat and sweat, we typically see a drop in the activity from both the RPG side of things as well as my day job in the CRE industry, so hopefully this will allow for some time with my thoughts and writing, in between the drunken adventures that will ensue I’m sure. To help me focus though, I figure I will write out some goals for myself that I may or may not follow over the next couple months.

Summer Goals

  1. Increase Morbidgames Affiliate Sales – This has been something I’ve never focused on, and while our sales have remained consistent I feel we could benefit from pushing the Affiliate side of things and helping out many of the other publishers out there as well. I’ve started on this by auto-feeding every 6 hours a new product from the RPGNow as well as Drive Thru Fantasy on my Twitter (should start later tonight). I’ve also redone some of the links on this site to include our affiliate link and any posts from here on out will include these ID’s. What I’d really like to do though, which I think would also help out other publishers would be to have more frequent updates on my blog or Twitter about other products I like or recommend. If you’re a publisher and would like me to review and comment on your products, please let me know, though I currently have a few in my mind.
  2. Finish up with Alice. This has been a constant struggle and I really am hesitant to even continue the project now that Tim Burton is doing an Alice movie, but I really do want to do something with this world with a good read and a fast play type of game session. Something will come out of this chaos of ideas I have on my desk.
  3. Increase Morbidgames Exposure. Having a page on every social and bookmarking site out there may generate a fair amount of traffic, but I’d really like to see a lot of people out in the real world talking about my games. I don’t know how exactly I may do this, but one idea I have is to start visiting the local book stores in Vegas again and pitching the core book, perhaps they could at least carry my sales flyers or a product catalog.

Lore: Forgotten Mythos is a collection of stories, places, monsters and people within the world of Ave Molech, written by aspiring authors and fans of the game. Each of these additions is designed to flesh out the world and will continue to help GM’s and players of Ave Molech with ideas for their own campaigns.

While the book can be read without having extensive knowledge of the world of Ave Molech, it does assume some familiarity with the campaign setting. Key words of places, beings and technology are used, though the average reader may be able to grasp their meaning or influence.

While these stories take place in the world of Ave Molech, they were written by fans of the world and some elements in them may vary from what is found within the Ave Molech Campaign Setting.

Available for $2.00 at:

Sent out the first draft to the writers yesterday and I’m printing out a copy now to look through. All in all I’m hoping for a release mid June or sooner, depending on how soon people get back to me. I’m actually really excited for this release now that everything is together and looking good.

In other news, if you are Paizo subscriber, you may want to bookmark this page, for future reference, Ave Molech and supplements are in queue to go up within the next week or two.

Update: I’m up on Paizo now YAY

Ave Molech: History & World is a 37-page version of our Second Edition Campaign Setting. This condensed setting removes the game mechanics, classes, occupations and most artwork to give prospective GM’s and players a look into the actual world, races and organizations within Ave Molech. In addition, this product should help those who may not want or be able to print out larger sized PDF’s or find shorter PDF’s easier to manage.

Important: If you own Ave Molech Second Edition you have all of this information.

Available for FREE from the MORBIDGAMES Emporium or at these online retailers for $2.00
MORBIDGAMES Emporium You can also get it the 16th here too!

As of today I have received most of the writings from the guest authors for this book, and only a couple of the larger items are still coming in by next week. In a couple weeks I’ll be back in the bay area for my wife’s b-day, but when I return I’ll more than likely start putting the book together as well as pulling and editing all of the writings sent in and accepted.

One of the projects I have, that I plan to focus on this weekend, is the “breaking up” of Ave Molech’s campaign book into small bite sized pieces. Essentially, for those people who do not prefer long PDFs, they will be able to purchase and print out the sections that would be useful to them. For example, we’ll have a break out of the The World Setting with Races and Lands, a GM items and Organizations/Important People piece – each one will lack the covers, some artwork and maps and be prepped for black and white printing and ideally be around 20ish pages. In addition, they will also be available at a reduced price, allowing for people who are not familiar with the world to try it out, without having to commit to 176 pages.

I should have the initial draft complete sometime in May.
