Since October 2006 I’ve put a lot of time and energy into creating this site, a store front of our own, an unused forum, a blog, many social sites and a lot of automation. As the main writer, the only designer (print and web), an artist, the owner, accountant and facilitator of all things Morbidgames I’ve finally reached the place where I find I’ve hit a wall. While I need to take a back seat to things related to Ave Molech and my silly little stories, don’t fret too much, as the site(s) have been mostly running themselves lately and I’ll be around to facilitate things as needed if something breaks. However, I will not be spending the same amount of time or energy on this project as I have in the past, nor will I be consistently active within the game communities.

That said, here are some things to expect for 2010 from Morbidgames:

  • I’m probably not going to get a chance to write/produce any new content
  • Current items will continue to remain available and promoted via the usual outlets, though I have no plans to run any holiday/special events, except for maybe at OBS as their staff handles that work
  • I’ll be reading submissions still, though there is a good chance it will take me longer than 30 days to get back to you and if I am not interested in it, then we’ll just be silent
  • Site updates probably won’t be happening unless something big happens, if you want to cyber-stalk me I suggest reading my personal blog/site
  • Yes, Alice is pretty much indefinitely on hold as too many other and better companies are doing Alice movies, shows and games currently and I don’t want to do something thats so popular right now

A theory that Google’s AdWords increases the organic results of AdWord users is being conducted. The results after two days of testing have been posted with some interesting results so far. The article also does some comparison with Facebook Ads, but ultimately this continues to perpetuate the theory that you can buy Google search results, without actually having to spend money by 0.01¢ and other low bidding tactics. Essentially, just using the service to gain impressions over click rates increases the organic search results of any sites used in your ad campaigns.

Sorry for the quietness coming out of me lately, things at work have been extremely busy for me, especially with the creation of my new site Las Vegas CRE News which will be announced through various PR channels on the 28th.

It’s been a busy week here, but I did manage to take a look at Sony’s new ebook store and I signed up to see about having Ave Molech listed on there. I also have been checking out http://www.booklocker.com/ as well as a continual effort to get Ave Molech and perhaps other of our PDF’s in more places than just here, OBS, YGN and E23.

If anyone has any suggestions of online PDF stores that carry fiction as well as role playing games, feel free to email in suggestions, post them on our forums or leave a comment here wiht them.

Site Update: The MORBIDGAMES Emporium is now open for business. You can now purchase any of our PDF titles directly from our online store. I’ve tested it a lot, but if you encounter any errors please let me know. Also, right now the site only excepts Google Checkout. This will actually allow you to use a credit card or checking account similar to how PayPal works, however it’s a bit more secure. In the future other methods of payment may be considered, but for now I wanted something solid to start with.

I’m going to be absent for a little while unfortunately. My wife has been very sick lately with a thyroid problem and the company I work for on my day job has a lot of things going on right now as we try to get some deals done, as well as I may be transferring back to the bay area come the beginning of the year if things don’t turn around drastically and go extremely well out here. Everything I was planning is on hold right now.

Well, with the latest release of Lore, Halloween coming up and Elections we’re going to be taking a break for a bit ourselves here. We’ll be on holiday from the 11th of October until the 18th of October. While we’ll be checking emails while we are away, do except some delay in having them responded too.

When we return we’ll post our plans for the next releases coming out.
